Bears schedule loaded with playoff teams in 2010
By Bud L. Ellis
In order to run down Minnesota and Green Bay in the ultra-tough NFC North, the Chicago Bears will have to contend with quite a few other contenders on their 2010 schedule.
Chicago will take on playoff teams in eight of its 16 games next season. The National Football League has announced its list of home games and road games for every team. Dates and times will be finalized next spring.
Fans turning out for Chicago home games will see quite a few of the NFL’s best in 2010. Along with NFC North champion and NFC runner-up Minnesota, and NFC wild-card team and division rival Green Bay, the Bears will face AFC runner-up the New York Jets, AFC East champion New England and NFC wild-card qualifier Philadelphia at home. The other three home games are against Detroit, Seattle and Washington.
On the road, three playoff teams await: the division games with the Vikings and the Packers, and a trip to NFC East champion Dallas. The rest of the road schedule includes trips to Detroit, the New York Giants, Buffalo, Miami and Carolina.
Based on opponents’ winning percentage from last season, the Bears’ schedule ranks tied with Minnesota for 14th toughest in the NFL.
